Artist's Comments

This portrait is done on 23' x 30' watercolor paper. I stained the paper with tea to get the background color, then drew with black and white charcoal.

very nice atmosphere!<3 i like to use tea too...but somehow i dont get like this brown paper...how do you make the tea?...you let the tea bag long time in the water?.....do you draw with hot or already cold tea on the paper?^^
from this picture i also like the composition of the woman

Thank you
I made a really thick tea, with like four teabags, and let it sit for a long time until it was cold, because I thought the hot water might wrinkle the paper too much. I had to paint over it three or four times to get it that dark. Would probably be easier to just get colored paper, but it was fun. :]
